Essential Responsibilities:
- Executes on long-range objectives and strategic plans for Engineering. Identifies internal and external strategic issues that affect business results, growth and profitability.
- Participates in overall business and company planning outside of the Engineering function as part of the senior management team
- You will be a subject matter expert to provide value through technical and/or leadership knowledge and proficiency in the business unit and may occasionally be called upon to do so at the global level
- Executes on financial and non-financial strategies; implements and maintains strategic and operational plans toward meeting functional targets for the business unit
- Evaluates the workforce needs of the organization; provides opportunities to subordinates to advance their technical and leadership knowledge to create a successful, robust and energetic environment
- Ensures engineering activities meet continuous improvement initiatives both from a strategic and tactical perspective including lead time reduction, flexibility to schedules, quality improvement, and cost reduction on a year over year basis

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
ALL Qualified Vice President of Engineering candidates must be dynamic, articulate, results oriented and accustomed to working in a fast-paced and intellectually challenging environment.- The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. A Master’s in Business Administration is highly desirable
- No exceptions here………You must possess a minimum of 5+ years of experience in engineering management at a director or higher level and a total of 15 years experience related to Engineering within an aerospace design and manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated program and engineering leadership required. Specific knowledge and experience relating to systems integration, Airline modification/MRO/OEM, cabin interiors/systems, and FAA/DER regulatory requirements are desirable
- Strong knowledge of Lean/CI/Green, Product design and CAD systems (Unigraphics/Catia) are required
- Exposure to traveling and working directly with international customers is highly desirable
